Why Encapsulate Your Placenta?

Mums who consume their placenta in capsule form for a quicker post-birth recovery often report reduced post-natal bleeding, a richer milk supply, a stable mood, and higher energy levels.

What’s in a Placenta?

The hormones and nutrients present in the placenta have the potential to heal and re-energise your body after birth. While supplement manufacturers continue to study placental composition, replicating the full spectrum of naturally occurring components and their potential benefits remains impossible. The placenta contains a unique combination of substances that closely reflect the nutritional and physiological needs of mothers. Its contents are a literal shopping list of what mothers need after birth.

Emotional Wellbeing

Cortisone and thyroid-stimulating hormone in the placenta support steady energy levels, healthy stress responses, and recovery following the demands of birth. Oxytocin encourages bonding and attachment with your baby, while corticotropin (CRH) may contribute to emotional balance after birth. Nutrients such as iron and vitamin B6 can further support energy levels, help reduce fatigue, and promote healthy hormone balance and emotional well-being.

Physical Health and Healing Benefits

Placental stem cells and growth factors, as well as Cortisone, prostaglandins, urokinase inhibiting factor, and Factor XIII, all support normal blood clotting, reduce inflammation, and aid wound healing. Oxytocin assists with pain relief and post-birth recovery. Immune-supporting components, including immunoglobulins, interferon, and gammaglobulin, will strengthen the body’s natural defences against infection. Placental Opioid-Enhancing Factor (POEF) encourages the production of natural endorphins, acting as pain relief. In addition, haemoglobin and iron from the placenta will replenish iron levels after birth.

Breastfeeding Support

(If you plan to bottle-feed, don’t worry, you will only produce milk if you put baby to the breast.)

Placental tissue is high in oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and gonadotropin, all of which prepare and support the breast tissue for lactation. Prolactin plays a key role in promoting and increasing milk production, while Human Placental Lactogen (HPL) supports and regulates the mother’s metabolism of glucose, protein, and fats to aid milk production.

Placenta Remedies

Placenta Pills (Encapsulation)

Encapsulating the placenta after dehydrating it provides a convenient and shelf-stable way to support postpartum recovery. Capsules can be prepared using either raw or steamed placenta, with both methods retaining the key nutrients, hormones, and bioactive compounds that may contribute to energy restoration, hormonal balance, and overall postpartum well-being.

Anecdotally, individuals who have tried both preparations report that raw capsules feel more physically energising, while steamed capsules may provide a calming effect. For those seeking a balance, a combination approach using 50% raw and 50% steamed can also be chosen.

You will receive an average of 180–300 placenta capsules. The capsules are taken 1–3 times daily for at least six weeks postpartum.

Raw Placenta Fruit Smoothie

Raw Placenta Fruit Smoothie

A raw placenta smoothie is prepared within hours of birth, using a small portion of placenta blended with organic fruits and berries for palatability. This method delivers stem cells, growth factors, and micronutrients in a form that may help support hormone replenishment, iron restoration, lactation, energy levels, and overall postpartum recovery. The smoothie is designed to provide immediate benefits in the first hours after birth, bridging the period before encapsulated placenta capsules are ready for regular consumption.

How the service works

Book your placenta service to receive clear storage instructions and be fully prepared for the big day. After your baby is born, your placenta can be collected from your home or the hospital—if you’ve chosen a smoothie, it will be collected from home. Your placenta remedies will be prepared and delivered to you by hand or via special delivery in 24-72 hours.

Placenta

I had both my placentas encapsulated. I decided to have c/section births and heard this could impact the milk coming in and my supply as my body prioritised healing. I was really keen to breastfeed, so I tried to do as much as I could to make sure we received as much of what nature intended as possible. My milk came in really quickly, and I never had an issue with supply.

“I nearly discounted it on the “ick” factor but this was the best thing I have bought! Im so glad I did it”

“I love my placenta capsules! I feel superhuman! My 1st baby, I just plodded on, exhausted, not really living. This time (even with 2 under 2), I feel awake. I’m enjoying the kids instead of merely surviving postpartum, and my hair hasn’t fallen out.”

“I had a consistent, healthy milk supply, a much easier experience compared to my first attempt at breastfeeding.”

“I had an emergency caesarean this time. It wasn’t the birth I planned, but I felt very emotionally stable and never felt the anxious overwhelm that I did with my first 2 babies, and I made a very speedy recovery.”
